Firegrass Communications is a Public Relations and Marketing Agency in Cornwall, offering cost effective marketing and PR services to businesses.

WE WERE VERY EXCITED TO BE WORKING WITH ONE OF THE BEST MARKETING AGENCIES IN THE SOUTH WEST, WHEN THEY CALLED UPON US TO DESIGN THEIR CHRISTMAS CARDS FOR THEIR CLIENTS IN DECEMBER 2010.

CLIENT

Shelley Fletcher - An award winning PR practitioner with more than ten years
of experience in marketing and public relations. Prior to setting up Firegrass
Communications Shelley Fletcher worked in PR and marketing roles, both
in-house and agency, managing campaigns and projects on a local, regional,
national and international level for clients in travel, tourism, event, lifestyle,
retail and food and drink sectors.

As well as working with traditional media Shelley is also able to deliver
campaigns that make effective use of new media and social media platforms.
Shelley won the Chartered Institute of PR’s award for Outstanding Young
Communicator of the Year at the West of England PRide awards in 2008 and
was a finalist in the Cornwall Business Awards for Young Business Person
of the Year 2009. She was also named in the PR industry’s magazine, PR Week,
as one of the top 29 PR practitioners under the age of 29 in the UK in 2009.

Firegrass also works with associates such as Aren Grimshaw, David Murdoch
and Esther Lochrie.

OBJECTIVE

To design a unique Christmas card for the highly renowned agency which will
be sent to all the clients Firegrass Communications work with. The design had
to be very professional but show off the distinct branding Firegrass has.

SOLUTION

We initially began with just a simple Christmas tree on the front, utilising the
colours and style of the Firegrass logo, but developed the design further into
what you can see above. We designed the Christmas tree from drawing angled
almost triangles to give it a more lively look to the standard tree designs you see.
We also incorporated the logo into 'ball balls' on the tree and used the very distinct
bright pink and green from the logo.

The paper the cards were printed on is really great, it's a 'Conqueror' stock, with
small glittery flecks in the paper, but not too much to make it cheesy. It looks really
classy and we are happy with the outcome.

Feedback from the client has been great and we hope to work with Firegrass
Communications again in the near future.
